Iberis sempervirens (Brassicaceae) is a prostrate, stoloniferous evergreen groundcover native to southern Europe. It grows about 1 foot tall and spreads to 18 inches or more via surface runners, forming dense mats of fine-textured, glossy dark green foliage. In spring to early summer, white flowers appear in dense racemes that can blanket the entire plant.

Candytuft thrives in full sun to part shade and demands well-drained soil; it is drought tolerant once established and resists deer and rabbit browsing. Cultivars range from the dwarf 'Little Gem' (6 inches) to the wider-spreading 'Purity' (8 inches) and 'Snowflake' (8 to 10 inches, with larger flower clusters). Botrytis blight is the primary disease concern. Plants attract butterflies and work well in rock gardens, borders, and walls. Hardy in Zones 4a to 8b.
