Syringa tribrida is a hybrid lilac of complex parentage, reaching 8-12 feet tall. The plant produces fragrant flowers in shades of pink, purple, or white arranged in terminal panicles appearing in late spring.

This hybrid is hardy to zones 4-8 and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. It combines traits from multiple lilac species and is less susceptible to mildew than some other lilacs. Several cultivars are available with selections for flower color and bloom time.
