Harvest Gold® is one of the best yellow-fruited crabapples in commerce — for PNW landscapes wanting yellow fall/winter fruit display rather than the typical red, this is the standard recommendation. However, disease resistance is mid-tier (Fair on scab and fire blight per JFS), making Harvest Gold less reliable than Tier 1 cultivars like 'Sugar Tyme®' or 'Snowdrift' in maritime PNW high-disease- pressure years. Use where yellow fruit color is a primary design goal AND scab pressure can be tolerated. Cross-reference with other yellow/gold-fruited crabapples: 'Snow Crystal®' (1/4-inch golden, compact pyramidal), 'Sparkling Sprite®' (1/4-inch golden, top-graft 12-ft dwarf), 'Coral Spear™' (1/2-inch gold, narrow columnar) — each offers different form factor with similar yellow-gold fruit color. Lake County ZAM series sibling of 'Sugar Tyme®', 'Lollipop®', 'Purple Prince'. Cross-reference yellow-gold fruit decision tree: 'Snow Crystal®' (pyramidal), 'Sparkling Sprite®' (compact dwarf), 'Coral Spear™' (narrow columnar), 'Harvest Gold®' (upright oval).
