A compact evergreen shrub native to the Himalayas, northeastern Burma, southeastern Tibet, and western Yunnan, reaching 3 feet. Sulfur to pale yellow campanulate flowers, 2½ to 3 inches across, in open clusters of 3 to 10 blooms.

Compact habit and yellow flowers make this a useful small-space species for collectors and woodland gardens. Acidic, well-drained soil. Twenty-one diseases and 15 pests documented at the genus level. All parts contain grayanotoxins and are toxic if ingested.
