An evergreen shrub reaching 6 feet. Large primrose-yellow flowers with slight darkening around the throat, up to 4 inches across, carried in large dome-shaped clusters.
Among the finest pure yellow elepidote hybrid rhododendrons. The large flower size and clean yellow color set a high standard among yellows. Acidic, well-drained soil. Twenty-one diseases and 15 pests documented at the genus level. All parts contain grayanotoxins and are toxic if ingested.
