A compact, mounding broadleaf evergreen shrub reaching 3 to 5 ft in 10 years. Flowers are pale lilac with frilly edges, 4.5 to 5 cm across, carried in rounded trusses. Hardy to -5F.

One of the few variegated rhododendrons widely available in the trade. The foliage variegation makes it useful as an accent plant or for brightening shaded borders. Twenty-one diseases and 15 pests documented at the genus level. All parts are toxic if ingested.
