A dwarf evergreen shrub native to western China, reaching 2 feet. Creamy white to pale yellow or yellow funnel-campanulate flowers about 1 inch across.
Dwarf stature makes this species useful for rock gardens, troughs, and small-space plantings. Acidic, well-drained soil. Twenty-one diseases and 15 pests documented at the genus level. All parts contain grayanotoxins and are toxic if ingested.
