An evergreen shrub reaching 6 feet. Glowing red campanulate flowers with black speckling on the upper petal, about 3½ inches across, in ball-shaped clusters of approximately 16 blooms.
Large flower size and intense red color with dark speckling create a bold display. Ball-shaped clusters of 16 flowers provide substantial visual mass. Acidic, well-drained soil. Twenty-one diseases and 15 pests documented at the genus level. All parts contain grayanotoxins and are toxic if ingested.
