An evergreen shrub reaching 5 feet. Bright red funnel-shaped flowers with wavy margins, about 2½ inches across, in dome-shaped clusters.
Full sun to part shade on acidic, well-drained soil. A reliable red-flowered hybrid. Twenty-one diseases and 15 pests documented at the genus level. All parts contain grayanotoxins and are toxic if ingested.
